Last week the DEP stocked the Mianus River with trout so fishing is pretty good. There are a couple of things to remember regardless of where you fish for trout. Make sure you have a 2007 fishing license and read the regulations for the waters you plan to fish. And, most important of all, remember that any trout that you may catch must be returned to the water unharmed.
Scott at Fisherman's World said winter flounder fishing in Norwalk Harbor has been good. Last week Dave Redford and his son, Dave Jr., were fishing the harbor. Using plenty of chum they caught 6 flatties measuring up to 15 inches. They also caught and released some schoolie-size stripers. All of the fish were taken on sandworms.
