Norwalk Harbor to be dredged

A Norwalk Harbor dredging project which has been eight years in the making will finally start this October. The first phase will clear 25 years of mud and sediment from the federal navigation channel between the Stroffolino Bridge and the head of the harbor near Wall Street. Two large aquatic disposal cells (trenches) north of the Yankee Doodle Bridge will also be excavated. The second phase planned for next year will clear out lower channels and some anchorages.
