Sewage cleanup continues at Salmon River

Until further notice, the Department of Environmental Protection advises residents to avoid swimming and fishing in the Jeremy River and a portion of the Salmon River due to Sunday's sewage spill.

Areas to avoid include:

The spill site in the vicinity of routes 2 and 149 in the Westchester section of Colchester downstream to the Salmon River. From the Salmon River at its confluence with the Jeremy River downstream to the Route 16 crossing in East Hampton. (Greg Smith, Norwich Bulletin).
