The Bloom family has been farming oysters in Connecticut for over 50 years from their 1930's wooden oyster boat, the Grace P. Lowndes. In the 1960's when pollution and frequent hurricanes threatened to ruin the industry, the Blooms played a role in saving this Connecticut resource.
