Quality Shad Willowleafs with Shad tips

Finding a quality shad willowleaf at your tackle shop or chain sports store is more challenging than actually catching a shad. The best you can hope to find are spoons that have been painted with a flat finish that eventually flakes off. In search of a better lure, I found Woo's lures and ArmandCharest Lures. ArmandCharest Fishing Lures. Armand was the guy who used to sell his lures right on the CT River. These lures come in a variety of sizes and colors. Besides standard nonpainted finishes they both sell glossy finished, one and two color lures and lures with black painted eyes. They also sell prerigged lures, weights, snaps, and even stripper lures all at a reasonable price. ArmandCharest has posted a copy of his Shad Fishing booklet which was published by the Massachusetts DEP. Woo's Lures website has a fishing report, various links for shad fishing. Even if you're not looking to buy anything, both sites are worth the visit.
